Coordinating Marine Construction Through Detailed CPM Scheduling

Demolition of an existing marine cargo pier and the subsequent construction of a new pier, mooring dolphins, breasting dolphins, and associated utility systems at the Fairfield Marine Terminal were performed for the Maryland Port Administration. This complex waterfront project required specialized coordination of marine construction and pile driving operations.

Project controls centered on a cost- and resource-loaded CPM schedule in Primavera P6, which consisted of 286 activities, 413 relationships, and 33 critical path tasks. This schedule was instrumental in synchronizing marine-based activities and ensuring that phased waterfront construction proceeded efficiently.
