Managing Complex Bridge Rehabilitation Through Detailed Critical Path Scheduling

For the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Pioneer Memorial Bridge Painting Stage 1 project, Anthony Management Group delivered comprehensive CPM scheduling services. The project involved cleaning, painting, and rehabilitating structural steel components of the bridge—including truss members, gusset plates, floorbeams, stringers, lateral bracing systems, bearing assemblies, and sidewalk support systems spanning multiple piers over the Columbia River. Executing this work required extensive coordination of access, containment, blasting, coating application, inspections, and sequencing activities while maintaining strict compliance with operational requirements and project constraints.

To manage these complex operations, Anthony Management Group developed a detailed, logic-driven Integrated Critical Path Method (ICPM) schedule using Primavera P6. This schedule consisted of approximately 479 activities, with more than 450 driving the longest path, and comprehensively incorporated preconstruction requirements, submittal reviews, mobilization, containment installation, blasting and coating operations, rivet replacement, final inspections, and phased work sequencing across multiple bridge zones. Through rigorous critical path analysis, schedule development, and project controls support, AMG established a structured execution plan to ensure efficient project delivery and milestone achievement.
