Supporting Complex Urban Tunnel Construction Through Critical Path Scheduling

Expanding active transportation infrastructure for the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, Anthony Management Group directed the scheduling for the Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMAR) Capital Crescent Trail Tunnel project. The work centered on constructing a vital bicycle and pedestrian underpass connecting trail segments beneath Wisconsin Avenue and Elm Street in Bethesda, Maryland, featuring a reinforced concrete structure alongside extensive utility relocations, roadway and sidewalk reconstruction, traffic signal modifications, street lighting, stormwater management, landscaping, public art, and advanced mechanical, electrical, communications, security, and life-safety systems.

Navigating the logistical complexities of a dense urban environment, our team engineered and maintained a robust CPM schedule tailored to support multi-phased construction. This scheduling framework was critical for synchronizing intricate tunnel and utility activities, managing strict stakeholder requirements, and maintaining fluid traffic operations throughout the duration of the project.
