Supporting Major Bridge Rehabilitation Through CPM Scheduling and Project Controls

Executing critical infrastructure rehabilitation for the Maryland Transportation Authority, Anthony Management Group directed the construction scheduling and project controls for miscellaneous structural repairs to the 1.9-mile continuous truss Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge spanning the Potomac River. The extensive scope encompassed structural steel repairs, bolt and rivet replacement, steel member plating, extensive cleaning and painting operations, catwalk demolition and replacement, concrete and drainage repairs, expansion joint modifications, and rigorous maintenance of traffic coordination.

To navigate the complex operational and environmental constraints of the project, our team engineered and maintained an Integrated Critical Path Method (ICPM) schedule using Primavera P6. This precise framework consisted of 165 activities, 78 critical path activities, and specialized work calendars explicitly designed to address weather limitations, traffic restrictions, and strict peregrine falcon nesting constraints. By monitoring these unique parameters throughout the project lifecycle, we successfully supported multi-phased construction sequencing, resource coordination, and ongoing schedule updates.
